Roller blinds have made a window treatment comeback and are a great way to smarten any room with the introduction of modern fabrics to compliment the style of any home, apartment or office. Manufactured in Tauranga, these blinds are non-intrusive, rolling away at the top of the frame to make rooms feel spacious and preserve your view. With decades of experience, our blind installation experts can fit your custom blinds to ensure the perfect solution for your space. Blinds are available in an extensive range of colours, textures, designs and prices.

You are spoilt for choice with blind options for full privacy, partial privacy, block out and various degrees of light-filtering. Control systems vary from standard chain through to smart blind motorisation for ease of use. These custom-made blinds are easy to clean, durable and can be manufactured to 3000mm wide.

Fabrics for light and privacy

There are three main fabric types available in Roller blind fabrics: Sunfilter, Lightfilter and Blockout. Each type can be used on its own or combined with each other in Dual Roller blinds.

Sunfilter

Protect your floors and furniture with Sunfilter fabric blinds which effectively block UV and heat, these fabrics don’t completely block your view to allow a sense of openness and allow some light in. At night with the light on, you will be able to see in through a Sunfilter blind.

These blinds are durable, won’t catch dust and are easy to clean with a wipe down with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.

Lightfilter

Lightfilter fabric blinds are a stylish and very cost-effective solution between Sunfilter and Blockout blinds if you do not require full blockout at night and want light to filter into the room during the day. These translucent fabric blinds are most commonly used in the living areas of a home as they softly filter light. In daylight, these fabrics can’t be seen through and from the outside at night, only a slight shadow effect can be seen inside, but only if you are close to the window. Lightfilter fabrics provide a higher degree of light filtering than a Sunfilter fabrics with a 100% block of UV rays, but still allow light in to create a lovely soft light effect.

Blockout

Blockout blinds provide you with evening privacy and sun protection during the day. The majority of the Blockout fabrics have a white backing which increases their thermal efficiency. This backing creates uniformity of colour when viewed from the outside but allows you to have different coloured blinds to complement your interior. ‘Vibe’ is our basic hardwearing Blockout fabric range. It’s ideal for children’s rooms, kitchens, rental properties and offices as it’s easy to clean, PVC and lead free.

Dual Roller Blinds – For day and night privacy

Using a dual or double blind gives you the best of both worlds, with a Sunfilter fabric for daytime privacy or filtering of sunlight, and a Blockout fabric for evening privacy. As the name suggests, double roller blinds are essentially two roller blinds installed in the same window. They are usually a Sunfilter or Lightfilter fabric at the back and a Blockout fabric in the front. They are operated with separate chain or motor systems and allow you to have greater light and privacy control.

What you need to know about installation

Roller blinds are installed inside your window frame and there will be a gap of 15-18mm between the fabric and the frame. For wider sized windows requiring two blinds, there will be a gap of 15-20mm where the blinds met in the middle.
